Day 2 of 12 Days of Giveaways: A Game of Cat and Mouse

It’s Day 2 of 12 Days of Giveaways! Keeping your cat active and motivated is important to their overall health and well-being. Pet parents can use cat toys to help accomplish this.

Tis the season of receiving packages at the door. And at our house, I’m the one who orders 99% of said packages. So when a box arrived that I hadn’t ordered, my interest was piqued.

Turns out, the hubby ordered me a cat toy for our cats!

The majority of the cat toys we have are self-play toys (is that a thing?) – i.e. the cats can play with them without any human assistance. But what the hubby ordered requires us to be involved, too.

Cats at Play

If you have more than one cat in your house, they may play together, which is great. If you’re a single cat household, your cat will look to you as a play partner. Even though we have a multi-cat household, we still play with our cats, as I’m sure you do, too.

Having at least a daily play session for cats of any age is a must.

  • Playing helps satisfy your cat’s predatory instincts (wiggle butt, then pounce!).
  • It keeps their body active (a necessity for indoor cats).
  • Playing gives their brain a workout, too.
  • And don’t forget that playing with your cat is a great way for you to bond.

Whack-a-Mouse

The toy that the hubby picked out, Whack-a-Mouse, isn’t one of those toys that will give the cats a full body workout, per se. But it does satisfy their curious nature and gets their brains working.

Check out Sophie in action!

  1. Hehehehe. I tried to make a whack-a-mouse game at home with a box and Bear was traumatized …. I cut the holes really big, but Bear shoved his ENTIRE ARM in the hole to catch the mouse and it got stuck in the box hole. Maybe a well made one would be less … trouble?

  2. I have always thought my kitties would love something like this, but have just never gotten around to getting them one. Shame on me! Thank you for giving us the chance to win one!

  3. TW isn’t sure if I’d like this. I don’t like those track ball things but when we had the box she made with the holes in it, I loved it. Thank you for the wonderful giveaways!

  4. Sophie isn’t included?? She does such a good demo. We have one, but when I received it, it was missing the stick and mouse. .I hate returning things, so I took a stick from another toy and attached a mousie. It worked! LOL My kitties like it.
